Cursive
Happy Hollow

I wasn't sure what to think after hearing that Gretta Cohn had packed her cello and left Cursive. She had become an very essential element to their sound. Suprisingly, Happy Hollow still sounds like Cursive, although this is also their most experimental release to date, with an occassional horn section adding to the attack. This album starts off agressively and continues strongly, though inconsistently, throughout the entire course of the album, but just doesn't measure up to The Ugly Organ, which was an immensly solid work of art. Happy Hollow results in the perfect example of a good band experimenting, as some songs are failures, and others are some of their best ever.

standout tracks: "Rise Up! Rise Up! " and "Into The Fold"
